Accounts and Office Assistant

Extensive co-working zone and high tech meeting rooms for start-ups, entrepreneurs and growing businesses.
Following a recent rebrand and refurbishment to modernise the look and feel of the space, the centre has introduced a 3d suite for prototyping and CAD design/training and a unique zone for wellbeing and mindfulness. The Engine House is also perfectly situated to capitalise on the new Abbey Wood Crossrail station.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outgoing and pro-active Accounts and Office Assistant looking to undertake a professional qualification such as AAT, CIMA or ACA.  The role is varied and also includes office administration, facilities and reception cover.

Great exposure to all areas of a small business for the right candidate and AAT training funded if needed.

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Raising license fee and variable cost invoices for customers
  • Processing payments on Bankline
  • Taking card payments
  • Transaction posting on Xero accounting system
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Raising purchase orders for expenditure and updating purchase ledger log
  • Sending out customer statements
  • Supplier reconciliations
  • Debt chasing
  • Liaising with Local Council regarding business rates
  • Undertaking vetting checks for new businesses
  • Processing license agreement documents for new joiners
  • Reception cover when required by the business
  • Setting up meeting rooms
  • First line response to facility issues
  • Other adhoc tasks as required

Personal specification

  • Pro-active
  • Team player
  • Desire to obtain professional accountancy qualification
  • Flexible worker able to work between 8:30am and 5pm and attend out of hours where required


  • 5 A-C A-levels or equivalent desirable
  • 5 A-C GCSEs or equivalent required
  • Qualified first aider and fire marshal or prepared to undertake training
